TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE ON SUNDAY / TO BE VISIBLE IN INDIA


A Total Eclipse of the Moon will occur in the early hours of Sunday the 9th November 2003 (from 0502 hrs. to 0835.hrs. I.S.T). The eclipse will be visible from Asia except the eastern parts, Africa, Europe including British Isles, Atlantic Ocean, part of Antarctica, Greenland, the Americas, Arctic region and Eastern Pacific Ocean.

The beginning of the partial phase of the eclipse will be visible all over India. However, the totality will not be visible over major portion of the country, except Northern, North-Western and Western parts. Some of the important places where the eclipse will occur from beginning to end are – Amritsar, Chandigarh, Dehra-Doon, Delhi, Hardwar, Shimla, Srinagar, Ujjain, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Jaipur, Mt. Abu and Udaipur.
