VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK FUNCTIONS IN RAILWAYS

With the oath of transparency and integrity administered by the Member Engineering, Railway Board, Shri Kanwarjit Singh to all the officials of the Ministry of Railways here this morning, the Vigilance Awareness Week has commenced. Similar pledge was taken by railway employees of Zonal Railways and other important offices of Indian Railways.

The highlights of the Vigilance Week are multi-coloured posters and banners with display of catchy slogans for generating awareness among railway employees.

The pledge is aimed at sensitizing and educating the public servants about the dangers of corruption. Corruption is anti-national, anti-poor and anti-economic development. Seminars, debates and essay competitions are being organized by the Railway Board and various field units of Indian Railways, during the Vigilance Awareness Week, which will continue upto November 8, 2003.

From now onwards, every year in the first week of November marking the Vigilance Awareness Week in the Government, all employees will be administered the pledge for integrity and transparency as their abiding faith in corruption-free governance.
