The President has been pleased to appoint the following as Governors :-

1. Shri Justice Om Prakash Verma (Retd.) as Governor of Punjab;

2. Shri Justice Vishnu Sadashiv Kokje (Retd.) as Governor of Himachal Pradesh;

3. Shri Nirmal Chandra Jain as Governor of Rajasthan;

4. Shri Kailashpati Mishra as Governor of Gujarat;

5. Shri Ram Prakash Gupta as Governor of Madhya Pradesh.

Shri Justice Om Prakash Verma (Retd.) who is appointed as Governor of Punjab is also simultaneously appointed as Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh.

Lt. Gen. (Retd.) S.K. Sinha, PVSM, presently Governor of Assam has been appointed as Governor of Jammu & Kashmir.

The above appointments will take effect from the dates the incumbents assume charge of their respective offices.
