NMDC PROPOSES PRODUCTION OF 195
LAKH TONNES IRON ORE
IN 2003-04
The Memorandum
of Undertanding (MOU) signed between the National Mineral Development
corporation Ltd., (NMDC) Hyderabad and the Union Ministry of Steel
for the year 2003-04 envisages a total excavation target of 270
lakh tonnes of iron ore, which is more by 38 lakh tonnes compared
to last year. Total production target of 195 lakh tonnes of finished
iron ore proposed for the next fiscal is also 25 lakh tonnes more
than the last year. The company has sales target of 205 lakh tonnes
iron ore, 10 lakh tonnes more than the last MOU target. It is
also envisaged that 86000 carats of dioamonds would be produced
during the year which is 2000 carats more than the last year.
The MOU was singed
today by Shri P.R.Tripathi, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, NMDC
and Shri J.S.Gill, Secretary, Ministry of Steel, Govt. of India.
