SOLAR POWER PLANT AT NAWAN SHAHAR
PRESIDENT
TO DEDICATE TO NATION
The President, Shri
A.P.J. Abdul Kalam will dedicate to the Nation a 200 KW grid interactive
Solar Photovoltaic Power project at village Khatkar kalan in Punjab.
The project has been set up at a cost of Rs.4.85 crore by the
Punjab Energy Development Agency. Of this Rs.2.94 crore is borne
by Ministry of Non-conventional Energy Sources and the balance
by Government of Punjab.
The SPV modules structures,
junction boxes, cables, power conditioning units have been supplied
by M/s Tata BP Solar India Ltd., M/s Tata-BP Solar India had commissioned
the project in December 2002 and will operate and maintain it
for 10 years.
The project comprises
2690 nos. of 75 Wp solar photovoltaic modules erected on 133 arrays.
These arrays are connected in parallel and series to give an output
of 240 volt DC. The power conditioning unit will automatically
wake up in the morning and shut down at night. The system will
go in the islanding mode when the grid voltage variation is more
than plus 12.5 per cent and minus 20 per cent.
