RENOWNED SARASWATI VEENA ARTIST SMT.
E. GAAYATHRI PERFORMS AT RASHTRAPATI BHAVAN
The renowned Saraswati
Veena artist Smt. E. Gaayathri held a veena recital at Rashtrapati
Bhavan on Saturday. The veena recitation was so beautiful and
absorbing that the music created a divine environment. The recital
was attended by the President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam,
officials of Rashtrapati Bhavan, families and other guests. The
performance coincided with the celebrations of International Women’s
Day on 8th March.
The recital was part
of the "Indradhanush" series of programmes being organised
by the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Club. The aim of the programme
is to cherish the talents of famous Indian Classical music and
dance artistes as well as up-coming young performers. The series
was launched with the performance by Sangeet Martand Pt. Jasraj
followed by Santoor Maestro Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma.
Smt. Gaayathri has
performed in India and abroad including Festival of India series.
