RAJYA SABHA
The Ministry of Defence
through Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP)
has received fourteen applications for grant of industrial license
for manufacture of various types of defence equipment till date.
No formal proposal for construction
work in defence production sector has so far been received.
The DIPP has issued six
letter of intent for manufacture of various types of defence
equipment, in consultation with Ministry of Defence to three
companies, so far.
This information was given
by the Defence Minister Shri George Fernandes in a written reply
to Shri PK Maheshwari in Rajya Sabha today
