Government has
set up an Inter-Ministerial Group of officers to go into various
issues concerning the pesticide industry. The group among other
things, will look into the representations received from the
Pesticide Industry Associations regarding problem faced by the
industry in securing registration from central insecticides
board, environmental clearance and high incidence of excise
duty and sales tax. The Inter-Ministerial Group also includes
the representatives of the pesticide industry.
This information
was given by the Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers,
Dr. Chhattrapal Singh, in a written reply to a question in the
Lok Sabha today.
