The Finance Minister,
Shri Jaswant Singh congratulated the Indian Cricket Team on
winning the World Cup Group match against Pakistan. In a congratulatory
message, the Finance Minister said "Well done all of you
individually and collectively. India is proud of you."
The Finance Minister
also announced on this occasion, that, the prize money received
by players for matches in the World Cup Series, individually
or as a team, would be exempted from income tax.
