ALL ARUNACHAL PRADESH STUDENTS' UNION MEETS SWAMI CHINMAYANAND


A delegation of All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union today called on the Minister of State for Home, Swami Chinmayanand and submitted a Memorandum regarding issues related to the presence of Chakmas and Hajongs in Arunachal Pradesh. They appealed the Minister to intervene and apprise the Election Commission of India to withdraw its order for the Special Summary Revision of electoral rolls in the State to include the Chakmas and Hajongs. The Delegation also pleaded for the repatriation or resettlement of Bangladeshi people of these communities elsewhere outside Arunachal Pradesh.

The Members of the Delegation highly appreciated the initiative taken by the Prime Minister towards the development of the North Eastern Region and also the steps taken by the Home Ministry towards establishing lasting peace in the region. Swami Chinmayanand assured the Delegation that he will take up the matter with the hon’ble Deputy Prime Minister, Shri L.K. Advani and said that no injustice will be done to the people of Arunachal Pradesh while taking any policy decision in this regard.
