RAILWAY PROJECTS IN JHARKHAND


Out of seven Railway new line and gauge conversion projects now underway in Jharkhand, six projects are being implemented on cost sharing basis with the State Government. These projects are targeted for completion in five years period.

The projects include Koderma-Ranchi new line at an estimated cost of Rs.1028 crores, Ranchi-Lohardaga gauge conversion with extension to Tori at an estimated cost of Rs.185.31 crores, Deogarh-Dumka new line at an anticipated cost of Rs.172.98 crores, Giridih-Kodarma new line at a cost of Rs.388.75 crores, Kodarma-Tilayia new line at Rs.307.71 crores and Mandarhill-Rampurhat via Dumka at Rs.254.06 crores.

No new projects have been undertaken in Jharkhand during the current Tenth Plan.
