NEW SHIPPING SECRETARY ASSUMES CHARGE TODAY
Shri D.T. Joseph, IAS
(MH:68) took over today as Secretary in the Ministry of Shipping.
Earlier, he was Secretary (Coordination and Public Grievances)
in the Cabinet Secretariat. He also served as Director General
of Shipping and was Member of the Rakesh Mohan Committee, which
recommended introduction of Tonnage Tax for Shipping Companies.
Immediately after assuming charge Shri Joseph held discussions
with the officials and apprised himself of the functioning of
the various sectors in the Ministry.
