DEFENCE PROCUREMENT

It is incorrect to
say that there is an atmosphere of fear in the Ministry of Defence
which is adversely affecting the Defence Preparedness of the country.
Due to some developments that took place in the last 2 years or
so, some officers may be a little hesitant in taking decisions.
Efforts are being made to see that any hesitation on their part
is removed and the work of defence acquisition is speeded up.
This information
was given by the Defence Minister Shri George Fernandes in a written
reply to Vijay J Darda in Rajya Sabha today.
