FUNDS FROM NETHERLANDS FOR WIND ENERGY PROJECTS IN KARNATAKA

RAJAY SABHA

Five renewable energy proposals including one project for setting up a wind power project in Karnataka have been selected under the Certified Emission Reduction Unit Programme Tender (CERUPT) which was floated by the Government of the Netherlands. The Certified Emission Reduction (CER) units generated from these projects will be purchased by the Government of the Netherlands from the respective project developers at a pre-determined price. The actual funds received from the Government of the Netherlands will depend upon the quantum of CER units generated by these projects.

This information was given by Shri M. Kannappan, Minister of State for Non-conventional Energy Sources, in a written reply to a question by Shri K.B. Krishna Murthy in Rajya Sabha today.
