DUGGAL TAKES OVER AS STEEL SECRETARY

Shri V.K.Duggal, an IAS officer of 1968 Batch, took over today as the Secretary in the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. Prior to this he was the Special Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and Forests. He replaced Shri J.S.Gill who went to Punjab as Chief Secretary.

During his career he has worked in many key positions like Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Delhi, Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Director General, Tourism, Government of India and ex officio Additional Secretary Ministry of Tourism and Culture. He has also worked abroad as Director of the Indian Tea Board at Sydney, Australia (1979-1983) and Adviser in the Commonwealth Secretariat, London stationed in Caribean (1989-93).
