CLEARANCE SOUGHT FOR CENTRAL PROJECTS
LOK SABHA
All Central projects
involving an investment of Rs, 100.00 crore and above have to
get the clearance from the Cabinet or Cabinet Committee on Economic
Affairs (CCEA) before implementation.
The norms for
approval of new large social and infrastructure projects as notified
by Ministry of Finance are as fillows:

This information
was given to Lok Sabha today by Shri S.B.Mookherjee, Minister
of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation, in a written
reply to a question by Shri T M Selvaganapathi, Shri Ramsheth
Thakur and Shri Ashok N. Mohol.
The Minister informed
the House that the time for the appraisal of projects has been
reduced from 24 weeks to 16 weeks as per the New Guidelines issued
by the Department of Expenditure.
