PROJECTS TO BOOST TOURISM IN J & K


RAJYA SABHA

The following works in Jammu & Kashmir during the current financial year to promote tourism:

    • Restoration/conservation/development of Kheer Bhawani Shrine at Tulmula, Ganderbal, Kashmir and its environment.
    • Restoration/conservation/development of shrine Complex at Baba-Rishi Sahib, Tangmarg, Kashmir and its environment.
    • Upgradation of Amarnath Ji Yatra and provision of Shelter units etc.
    • Improvement of tourism circuit – Vaishno Devi –Patnitop -Srinagar-Gulmarg.
    • Improvement of tourism facilities in and around Aishmuquam Shrine, Kashmir.

This was stated by the Minister for Tourism and Culture, Shri Jagmohan in reply to a question by Shri T.S. Bajwa in Rajya Sabha today. These projects will be implemented in consultation of the State Government.
