INVESTIGATION
OF TRAIN TRAGEDY IN PUNJAB

Commissioner of Railway
Safety, North Eastern Circile, who is conducting statutory investigation
into the Amritsar bound Golden Temple Express fire of May 15,
2003, fire accident, has mentioned in his preliminary inquiry
report that the cause of the fire can be ascertained only after
the receipt of the report of State Forensic Science Laboratory,
Chandigarh.
After this accident,
a special drive deploying Commercial, RPF and Station Staff have
been launched to prevent carriage of inflammable material and
intensive publicity campaigns have been launched to educate traveling
public.
This information
was given by the Minister of State for Railways Shri Bandaru Dattatraya
in a written reply to a question from Shrimati Ambika Soni and
two other Members in the Rajya Sabha today.
