In the derailment
of Golconda Express on July 2, 2003 at Warangal station, 21 persons
got killed and 24 others were injured.
Commissioner of Railway
Safety/South Central Circle is inquiring into this accident. In
his preliminary report, he has mentioned that the accident occurred
due to delayed application of brakes by the driver.
This information
was given by the Minister of State for Railways Shri Bandaru Dattatraya
in a written reply to a question from Shri N.R. Dasari in the
Rajya Sabha today.
