CENTRAL FUNDS TO MADHYA PRADESH
FOR RURAL SANITATION AND WASTELANDS DEVELOPMENT
Ministry of Rural
Development has released Rs. 121.56 lakh to the two districts
of Madhya Pradesh towards the Central Assistance under the Total
Sanitation Campaign of the Central Rural Sanitation Programme.

The Total Sanitation
Campaign (TSC) focuses on awareness generation to create demand
for sanitation facilities. Financial support is given for construction
of individual household toilets by the below poverty line (BPL),
school toilets for all government schools in the rural areas with
emphasis on separate toilets for girls in all co-educational schools,
toilets for Anganwadi and Balwadi centres, Community Sanitary
Complexes for women in villages where land availability with individuals
is a problem and people are ready to own, operate and maintain
such complexes.
Ministry has released
Rs. 68.91 lakh to Gwalior and Ujjain District for development
of wastelands under "Integrated Wastelands Development Project".
Gwalior gets Rs. 40.97 lakh while Ujjain gets Rs.27.94 lakh for
implementation of the programme.
