514 GENERAL POOL RESIDENTIAL HOUSES READY FOR POSSESSION

CPWD has built 514 General Pool residential houses for Government employees at HUDCO Place, Andrews Ganj here, at a cost of around Rs. 55 crore. These include 314 Type IV (Special) and 200 Type V houses, in two groups each and are ready for possession. Attention has been paid to develop green area around the houses and provision of linkage among the four pockets with connecting roads. A rain water harvesting scheme has also been completed for these houses in keeping with the design finalized in consultation with Central Ground Water Board authorities.

A multi storeyed building having 319 Transit Flats has been planned on the plot of land between the two groups of Type IV Special houses. These compact residential units with modern specification and well planned services are likely to be highly in demand like Asia House, Pragati Vihar Hostel & K.G. Marg Apartments, particularly in case of young officers. This project is to cost around Rs. 30 crore and will be completed in two years after the work is awarded.
