FOUR UNDERGROUNDS SURRENDER TO ARMY

Four hardcore underground cadres belonging to various groups surrendered with arms ammunition to Army in Manipur today.

The undergrounds belong to three different outfits, one each, from National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Issac Muviah) National Socialist Council of Nagaland (khaplang) and two from Kuki National Front (Zoma Thang). The surrendered weapons included with one 9mm carbine, two 9mm pistols and one point 38 carbine revolver and assorted ammunition.

Speaking on the occasion Brigadier VK Batura conveyed to undergrounds that an earnest endeavor would be made to rehabilitate them suitably in consultation with the state government. He also impressed that more of such persons who have strayed in the past should try to join the main stream and embrace peace and shun the path of violence.
