DD NATIONAL TO TELECAST 52 EPISODES ON VARIOUS ASPECTS OF TRIBALS TOMORROW

INAUGURAL FUNCTION OF THE PROGRAMME TO BE LAUNCHED FORMALLY BY THE TRIBAL AFFAIRS MINISTER

National network of Doordarshan (DD1) to start telecast 52 episodes on different aspects of tribals on each Friday at 3 PM beginning tomorrow. It has been decided to launch the Inaugural function in Talkatora Indoor Stadium here tomorrow around 4.30 P.M. by the Tribal Affairs Minister, Shri Jual Oram. The launching of the said programme coincides with the reception of the Tribal guests of the Republic Day 2003, who have been invited from different states/Union Territories to witness the Republic Day-2003 at the Capital. Two representatives (one male and female), a total of 58 Tribals have been chosen as the guests of the Government of India, from various states/Union Territory Administrations. Ministry of Tribal Affairs is organising a cultural progamme of dances on the occasion of reception of the Tribal guests and tableau artists.

The function will be attended by Members of Parliament, Diplomats and high ranking officials. 52 episodes on DD National will be launched every week under ‘Janjatiya Darpan’ programme. The first episode of the programme will be telecast by DD1 from the spot at 4.30 PM.
