Shri Balasaheb Vikhe
Patil, Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, has
said that his Ministry was making all out efforts to increase
the usage of Hindi. He was speaking at a meeting of the Hindi
Advisory Committee attached to his Ministry. A Special Hindi month
was observed from September 16, 2002 to October 15, 2002 to propagate
increased use of Hindi. During this period many competitions were
organised. The winners were given cash awards.
The Minister said
letters received in Hindi were replied to in Hindi only. Special
care is taken to send letters to Hindi speaking states in Hindi.
Dr. Vallabhbhai Kathiria,
Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises,
and Secretary, Shri Naresh Narad also attended the meeting.
