The Ministry of Rural Development has released
Rs. 9020.96 lakh for rural drinking water to Rajasthan towards
second instalment during the year 2002-03. Out of this total,
Rs. 7259.80 lakh is for execution/completion of schemes to provide
safe drinking water facilities to rural habitations and schools
under the centrally sponsored Accelerated Rural Water Supply Programme
(ARWSP). With this an amount of 17625.30 lakh stands released
to Government of Rajasthan against the total allocation of Rs.20731
lakh under the programme for the current year.
The Ministry has also released Rs.1761.16 lakh
as second instalment to the State for execution/completion of
schemes to provide safe drinking water facilities to rural habitations
and schools under the centrally sponsored Accelerated Rural Water
Supply Programme (ARWSP) in Desert Development Programme areas.
Under this head, an amount of Rs.4770.66 lakh stands released
so far to the Government of Rajasthan against the total allocation
of Rs.6019.00 lakh for the year 2002-2003.
