AMMU & KASHMIR GETS RS.97 LAKH AND FOODGRAINS UNDER SGRY


The Ministry of Rural Development has released Rs.97 lakh as second instalment to three districts of Jammu & Kashmir under Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana (SGRY – 1st stream) for the year 2002-03.

The Ministry has also released 0.41 thousand tonnes of wheat and 1.27 thousand tonnes of rice to three districts of Jammu & Kashmir.

The Ministry has already released first instalment of funds Rs. 106.58 lakh against allocated Rs. 213.92 lakh to the State.

The first stream of the programme is being implemented at the District and Intermediate Level Panchayats. Under this stream, funds available are distributed between the Zila Parishad and Intermediate Level Panchayats or Panchayat Samiti in the ratio of 40:60.

The expenditure and implementation of the programme with regard to cash component is to be shared on 75:25 basis between the Centre and the State Government. The State Govt. should release to the district the State cash share, within a fortnight of the date of release of the Central assistance.
