The Ministry of
Rural Development has released Rs. 433 lakh as Centre’s share
under Indira Awaas Yojana for rural housing to Maharashtra and
Rajasthan. Out of the total amount of Rs. 212.28 lakh released
to two Districts of Maharashtra, Nandurbar District gets Rs.
160.32 lakh and Akola gets Rs. 51.95 lakh as second instalment
for rural housing.
Ministry has
released Rs. 221.17 lakh to three Districts of Rajasthan for
the implementation of the Yojana as second instalment for the
year 2002-2003. Bikaner District gets Rs. 161.90 lakh, Sikar
– 19.94 lakh and Jaisalmer gets Rs. 39.32 lakh.
The expenditure
on the implementation of the rural housing programme is to be
shared on 75:25 basis between the Centre and the State respectively.
The grants are towards the Plan expenditure and will be utilized
for approved items of works subject to the conditions laid down
in the guidelines under Indira Awaas Yojana. The concerned State
Governments should release their share within one month of the
date of release of the Central Assistance.
