Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee has condoled the demise of Shri Sundaram
Ramakrishnan, in Mumbai today.
In a message,
Shri Vajpayee said that in the death of the octogenarian leader,
the nation has lost a veteran freedom fighter, who was a witness
to the crucible of freedom struggle from the very core, who
was privileged to serve as Mahatma Gandhi’s and Sardar Vallabhai
Patel’s secretary. He worked tirelessly for the spread of education
and to imbue Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan with the values and ethos
of Indian traditions and culture, the Prime Minister said. Much
decorated, Shri Ramakrishnan played a pivotal role in the upliftment
of the downtrodden and diffusion of nationalistic values in
our society, Shri Vajpayee added.
