The Ministry of
Rural Development has released Rs.599.207 lakh as centre’s share
of second instalment under Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) for rural
housing to the state governments of Uttaranchal, Orissa, Kerala
and Gujarat and Union Territory Andaman & Nicobar Isalnds,
for the year 2002-2003.
The Ministry has
released rural housing funds to the three districts of Orissa.
Angul district gets – Rs.121.867 lakh, Nawarangpur – Rs.209.400
lakh and Sonepur – Rs. 56.660 lakh as second instalment under
IAY.
Pathanamthitta
district of Kerala gets Rs.131.10 lakh, Narmada district of
Gujarat - Rs.55.86 lakh and Pithoragarh district of Uttaranchal
gets Rs.9.825 lakh under the same Yojana.
The expenditure
on the implementation of the rural housing programme is to be
shared on 75:25 basis between the Centre and the State respectively.
The grants are towards the Plan expenditure and will be utilized
for approved items of works subject to the conditions laid down
in the guidelines under Indira Awaas Yojana. The concerned State
Governments should release their share within one month of the
date of release of the Central Assistance.
Andaman district
of Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands gets Rs.43.67
lakh central allocation for IAY.
