Shri Thirunavukkarasar has taken over charge
as Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology
here today. Soon after, Shri Thirunavukkarasar met the senior
officials of the Ministry and was briefed about its various Departments.
Those who were present in the meeting include, the Chairman, Telecom
Commission; Secretary, Departments of Posts (DoP) and other senior
officials of the Department of Information Technology (DIT), the
Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Department of Posts (DoP)
and the Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL).
Speaking to the newspersons, Shri Thirunavukkarasar
said that his endeavour would be to bridge the digital divide
by taking tools of Information Technology and Communications to
the rural masses.
