Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee today
called upon the countrymen to continue to have faith in their
strengths and beliefs and not loose their confidence/faith during
crisis periods .He said that one should move ahead with a missionary
zeal by overcoming obstacles to achieve their goals. He was addressing
the gathering after unveiling the foundation stone of Astha Kunj
in the capital.
Ridiculing those who talk of starvation deaths
in different parts of the country ,Shri Vajpayee said that there
is no scarcity of foodgrains in the country and the same is available
at affordable prices to public. He advised people to change their
their perspective of looking at various issues and appreciate
positive things in an age when the country is moving ahead in
all sectors of development. He also emphasized the need to complete
various projects before time and said that it is possible if one
has belief in their strengths and has commitment and dedication
towards the goals. He complimented Delhi Development Authority
and the Minister for Urban Development Shri. Ananth Kumar for
their efforts in undertaking various development works like flyovers,
parks,etc in Delhi.
Speaking on the occasion Minister for Urban Development
Shri. Ananth Kumar said that DDA’s efforts in greening Delhi have
helped the capital in having a green cover of 20% so that the
impact of pollution is minimized. He explained to the Prime Minister
various works undertaken by his department like building of 25
flyovers in the last 4 years and house melas conducted by DDA
to distribute 15-20 thousand flats in the last two years.

and Poverty Alleviation Shri.Pon Radhakrishnan,Lt Governer of
Delhi Shri Vijay Kapur and Secretary in the Department of Urban
