MASS AWARENESS PROGRAMME FOR WOMEN ON FRESHWATER
Central Soil and
Material Research Station (CSMRS) under the Ministry of Water
Resources has organised one day Mass Awareness Training Programme
for Women on Freshwater here today. 20 Volunteers from All India
Women’s Conference have attended the Training programme. The awareness
training is intended to develop resource persons for conducting
further mass awareness programme from time to time on water related
issues. The trainees were sensitized on the themes of Fresh Water
– A Global and Indian Scenario and Water Conservation – To make
water everybody’s concern. The CSMRS have come with a water testing
kit developed by them to assess few important parameters for its
potability and the kits were distributed among the volunteers.
Besides, models on
water conservation and rainwater harvesting were displayed to
acquaint them with latest technology. The training aims at increasing
in general awareness among the volunteers about freshwater and
related issues. This would further enhance their knowledge on
preservation and conservation of freshwater.
