WATERSHED DEVELOPMENT FUNDS FOR RAJASHTAN,
MADHYA PRADESH AND GUJARAT
Ministry of Rural
Development has released funds to the State Governments of Rajasthan,
Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat for watershed development. An amount
of Rs.1138.28 lakh has been released to Rajasthan for planning
and development of watershed programme during 2003-04. Karauli
district gets Rs.49.92 lakh, Baran-Rs.108 lakh, Jaipur-Rs.25.64
lakh, Barmer-Rs.216.37 lakh, Ajmer-Rs.157.46 lakh, Bhilwara-Rs.47.69
lakh, Chittorgarh-Rs.102 lakh, Bikaner-Rs.55 lakh, Jalore-Rs.97.77
lakh and Jodhpur district gets 278.42 lakh.
An amount Rs.728.44
lakh has been released to 9 districts of Madhya Pradesh under
Drought Prone Areas Programme (DPAP) during 2003-04. These districts
are : Umaria, Panna, Betul, Khargone, Badwani, Dhar, Shivpuri,
Khandwa and Seoni.
Ministry has released
Rs.145 lakh to four districts of Gujarat for planning and development
of watershed projects for implementation of Drought Prone Areas
Programme (DPAP). These districts are :- Dang, Navsari, Junagarh
and Bhavnagar.
