SECURITY ORGANISATIONS IN THE COUNTRY MUST MAINTAIN CONSTANT VIGIL FOR THWARTING ENEMY DESIGNS TO DESTABILIZE THE NATION – SAYS ADVANI


The Deputy Prime Minister, Shri L.K. Advani has called upon security organizations to maintain constant vigil to counter any challenge and thwart enemy designs to destabilize the country. He said the steadily increasing menace of terrorism all over the world is decidedly the most important threat and challenge facing the mankind today. Since terrorism is now globalised with increasing networking of terrorist outfits all over the world, it is imperative for security organizations to maintain constant vigil and strive towards keeping themselves updated about latest technologies and gadgetries to deal with the menace. Shri Advani was inaugurating the "International Security, Safety and Fire Exhibition-2003" at Pragati Maidan, here today. The Exhibition has been put up by the Central Industrial Security Forces with the help of the India Trade Promotion Organisation.

He said today from temples of worship to temples of economy, nothing is immune from terrorist attacks and no civilized country can justify any Act of Terrorism. Shri Advani said New Delhi has been successfully in creating a worldwide awareness on the menace of terrorism and the international community today is prepared to counter any threat. But the world woke up to horrors of terrorism only after the September 11 attack on the World Trade Centre.

Hailing the CISF for countering the security threats effectively, Shri Advani said the Force has expanded its activities mani-fold which include maintaining the security at airports and private establishments. Times have radically changed and so our security needs and therefore, it is the concern of every Indian how to tackle the terrorist menace. Referring to the Exhibition, the Home Minister said exposition of this type has also a commercial aspect and world class Indian products can fulfil the security requirements of South-East Asian countries. He hoped the Exhibition will help creating awareness among the public and prepare themselves to counter the terrorists who are determined to disturb the social fabric of the country.
