APPLICATIONS FOR THE CIVIL SERVICES
(PRELIMINARY) EXAMINATION, 2004 INVITED
The Union Public
Service Commission will hold the Preliminary Examination of the
Civil Services Examination for recruitment to Indian Administrative
Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and certain
Group ‘A’/Group ‘B’ Central services/posts on 16th
May, 2004.
The candidates must
apply in the Common application form devised by the Commission
for its examinations which can be purchased from any one of the
designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices throughout the country
against cash payment of Rs. 20/- (Rupees Twenty only). Each such
Form can be used only once and only for one examination.
In case candidates
have any difficulty in obtaining Application Form/Central recruitment
Fee Stamp from any of the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices,
they should immediately contact concerned Postmaster or UPSC’s

The last date for
receipt of applications is 29th December, 2003.
In the case of applications received by post/speed post from the
candidates residing abroad or in remote areas specified in the
Notice, the last date for receipt of applications by Post/Speed
Post only is 5th January, 2004.

the Syllabus and Scheme of the examination, Centres of examination,
Guidelines for filling up the application form etc. aspirants
must consult the detailed Notice of the examination published
in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar dated 29th November,
2003.
UPSC have a Facilitation
Centre near Gate ‘C’ of its campus. Candidates may obtain any
guidance/information/clarification regarding their application/candidature

from this counter. Candidates can also obtain information about
receipt and registration of their applications, venue of examination
