PRESIDENT WITNESSED THE SPECTACLE OF PLANET MARS

The President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam witnessed the spectacle of the red planet Mars in the midnight yesterday, with his team through a telescope at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The beautiful and colourful features of Mars apart from the Scientific aspects in the southern sky and our expanding universe inspired him.

The President after observing the features of the red planet, the one closest to Earth, and also recalling a number of scientific and technological efforts made globally to learn more about it is convinced that Mars will become a sought after planet for human exploration for wealth and habitat, in a few decades. New technological advances in space research, material science, communication and transportation technology will make it possible. India’s moon mission has to lead another purposeful mission to Mars.
