I&B MINISTER CONDOLES THE DEATH OF SMT. GUPTA

The Minister of Information & Broadcasting, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad has condoled the death of veteran journalist and Chairperson of Aaj Group of Newspapers, Smt. Shashi Bala Gupta who expired in Varanasi, last night. In a message, Shri Prasad said that Smt. Gupta participated in the freedom struggle actively and was a great patron of civil liberties. He said, despite being close to Nehru family, she opposed the Emergency in 1975. She gave a hype to the civil liberty ideals through her group of newspapers, Shri Prasad added.
