GREATER USE OF HINDI IN SOCIAL
JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT MINISTRY
There has been considerable
improvement in the use of Hindi in the Ministry of Social Justice
and Empowerment and several of its subordinate offices, corporations
and institutions. This was revealed during the 4th
meeting of the Hindi Consultative Committee of the Ministry here
today.
Presiding over
the meeting, the Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr.
Satyanarayan Jatiya said that all computers in the Ministry have
been provided with the facility of working in Hindi. He said that
Ministry’s Website in Hindi was launched recently. It provides
upto date information in Hindi of various programmes and schemes
run by the Ministry. Dr. Jatiya said that publicity material of
the Ministry is published in Hindi and various regional languages
to reach the maximum number of targeted persons. The Minister
complimented the national Scheduled Castes Finance and Development
Corporation for cent percent use of Hindi in its official correspondence.
Dr. Jatiya urged all employees to work in Hindi and meet the stipulated
targets. He said that the Ministry would observe Hindi Month from
August 21. He hoped that this would inspire the employees for
greater use of Hindi and set a proper tone for Hindi Divas on
September 14.
The Minister of State
for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Nagmani said that the
Ministry is trying its best to maximize the use of Hindi. Welcoming
the suggestions of the Members in this regard, Shri Nagmani said
that they would be considered with urgency.
Participating in
the meeting, Dr. P Salvi Das, Member Parliament, suggested that
next meeting of the Committee should be held in the South as people
there are keen to learn Hindi. Shri Venketashwar Loo , Member
Parliament, said training programmes for employees to learn Hindi
should be time bound.
The meeting evaluated
the use of Hindi in the Ministry and various subordinate offices,
institutions and corporation. While appreciating the overall improvement
in the use of Hindi, the Members suggested that best performance
should be suitably awarded.
Among others who
attended the meeting included Dr. Sohanpal Sumanakhshar, Dr. Mahesh
Chander Gupta, Prof Iqubal Ahmed, Shri Jai Kishen Guar, Shri Sumati
Lal Shah, all Members of the Committee, Social Justice and Empowerment
Secretary Dr. B.S.Baswan and other senior officials of the Ministry
and Corporations and subordinate offices.
