OUTSTANDING BILLS AGAINST ANDHRA PRADESH GOVERNMENT FOR USE OF IAF AIRCRAFT

The Air Headquarters had sent airlift bills to the tune of Rs. 3 crores to the Government of Andhra Pradesh for aircraft used during floods in the State in August, 2000. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has requested for waiver of above bills in view of drought conditions prevailing in the State. The matter is being examined in the Ministry of Defence.

This information was given by the Defence Minister Shri George Fernandes in a written reply to Smt NP Durga in Rajya Sabha today.

ACQUISITION OF WHEELED SP GUN

 

A Price Negotiation Committee is currently negotiating the price of the Wheel Self-Propelled Gun with the Vendor. It is not true that the general service qualification requirement was changed after the opening of the tender and the Government does not propose to invite fresh tenders for the same.
