INDIA SOUTH-AFRICA COOPERATION
IN BROADCASTING AND FILMS
The South African Minister
for Communications, Dr. (Ms) Ivy Matsepe – Casaurri called on
the Information and Broadcasting, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, here
today. She sought India’s cooperation in providing training to
South African personnel in graphics and animation film production,
radio and TV programme production. She also sought details of
Indian policy initiatives in the field of broadcasting and information.
The I&B Minister offered
the training facilities at the Film and Television Institute,
Pune, Satyajit Ray Film and T.V. Institute, Kolkata, Indian Institute
of Mass Communication, Delhi and other non-governmental institutions
in India. He said, the Indian animation sector has great potential
and is growing at a very fast pace. Sough Africa can have the
benefit of learning from Indian experience through exchange programmes.
Both the countries agreed to explore the possibilities of co-production
of films.
