SETTING UP OF TERMINALS BY PRIVATE
ENTREPRENEURS ON RAILWAYS
The Railways have
been encouraging private entrepreneurs for setting up terminals
and warehousing facilities.
A pilot project is
under operation since February, 2002 with Central Warehousing
Corporation (CWC) at Whitefield, Bangalore In this direction,
a step further has been taken to have a Memorandum of Understanding
with CWC for the development of warehousing complexes at different
railhead terminals.
This information
was given by the Minister of State for Railways Shri Bandaru Dattatraya
in a written reply to a question from Shri Tarini Kanta Roy in
the Rajya Sabha today.
