EXPANSION OF SANJAY GANDHI THERMAL
POWER PLANT
Madhya Pradesh State
Electricity Board is expanding its Sanjay Gandhi Thermal Power
Plant by adding a new unit of 500 MW. After obtaining Techno-Economic
Clearance from the Central Electricity Authority, the Madhya Pradesh
State Electricity Board has issued Letter of Intent (LOI) on Bharat
Heavy Electricals Ltd. on 10th March, 2003 for completing
the project on turnkey basis. The project is scheduled for commissioning
in the Tenth Plan.
This information
was given by Smt. Jayawanti Mehta, Minister of State for Power
in a written reply to a question by Shri Virendra Kumar in Lok
Sabha today.
