The Information & Broadcasting Minister, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad has condoled the death of noted playwright, theatre personality and novelist, Balwant Gargi who passed away in Mumbai. In a message, Shri Prasad said that Balwant Gargi was among the pioneers of playwriting in Punjabi and the production and telecast of his plays like "Sanjha Chulha" on Doordarshan received countrywide appreciation. In his death the theatre world has lost a prominent exponent of the art, Shri Prasad said.
