SCOPE OF PROCESSING UNITS FOR CARROT
JUICE AND ISABGOL
The Ministry of Food
Processing Industries have requested State Governments to conduct
detailed studies, which could assist them in formulating action
oriented policies for the development of processed food sector
as also for devising action plan & strategies for the development
of the sector based on strengths of the region.
Under the Plan Scheme
of this Ministry, assistance is available for setting up/expansion/modernisation
of fruits and vegetables processing units including those for
production of carrot juice in Banaskantha, Patan & Mehsane
districts of Gujarat, if viable project proposals are received
in the Ministry.
This information
was given in Lok Sabha today by Shri N.T. Shanmugam, Minister
of State for Food Processing Industries in a written reply.
