DEPRECIATION RATES FOR CERTAIN POLLUTION
CONTROL EQUIPMENT ENHANCED
The Government has enhanced the rate
of depreciation from 80% to 100% in the case of certain air pollution
control equipment, water pollution control equipment and solid
waste control equipment. These rate will be applicable with effect
from the assessment year 2003-04. A notification amending these
rates in Appendix I to the Income-tax Rules, 1962 has been issued
by the Ministry of Finance.
