FIXATION/REVISION OF PRICES
OF BULK DRUGS PREDNISOLONE AND PREDNISOLONE ACETATE
NPPA has revised the price of bulk drug Prednisolone from Rs.
59000/kg. to Rs. 58520/kg and Prednisolone Acetate from Rs. 62000/Kg.
to Rs.38560/kg. vide notification in the Gazette of India Extraordinary
No. S.O.384(E) dated 2nd April, 2003. These prices
have been revised under the provisions of DPCO, 1995 after conducting
the detailed cost price study. M/s Wyeth Lederle Ltd. is the only
known manufacturer, producing the drug from basic stage in the
country.
The revised notified price shall become effective
within 15 days from the date of notification in the Official Gazette.
All the manufacturers of the formulations utilizing the drug in
their scheduled formulations are advised to follow the provisions
of DPCO, 1995 with regard to pricing of the derivative formulations.
