FREE SALE SUGAR QUOTA FOR OCTOBER, NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER RELEASED

The Government have decided to release 11.50 lakh tonnes of quota of indigenous free sale sugar for the month of October, 2002, 10.50 lakh tonnes for the month of November, 2002 and 10.00 lakh tonnes for the month of December, 2002. With levy quota of 2.16 lakh tonnes for each of these three months, the total availability would be 13.66, 12.66 and 12.16 lakh tonnes respectively.

The free sale quotas are meant only for internal consumption and with enough stocks of sugar in hand, Government would not hesitate in releasing further subsantial quantities additionally in case of requirement so dictates.
