SANTOOR MAESTRO PANDIT
SHIV KUMAR SHARMA PRESENTS BOOK TO THE PRESIDENT
The renowned santoor
maestro Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma alongwith his team presented
a copy of his book co-authored by "Journey with a Hundred
Strings: My Life in Music" to Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, the
President of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan last evening.
Accepting the
book, the President said he was an admirer of Pandit Shiv Kumar
Sharma for his accomplishment in music. The President also said
that Panditji’s music flowing from his santoor gives bliss and
happiness to his body.
In his book,
Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma provides a fascinating insight into his
life as a classical musician, details his associations with other
musical maestros and his struggle to establish the santoor as
a classical Indian instrument. Panditji has created a new genre
of instrumental music using innovative experiments, but without
compromising on its purity.
