PM CONDOLES DEATH OF PRIYA
TENDULKAR
The Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee
has expressed deep sorrow on the sudden demise of noted actress
Priya Tendulkar.
In his message, Shri Vajpayee said that Priya
Tendulkar was a significant presence in theatre, film and television,
both Marathi and Hindi. Her crusading role in and as ‘Rajni’ gave
voice to many important social issues. This popular television
show was precursor to many meaningful and issue-based serials
with strong female characters as protagonists. Her absence will
be long felt on the Indian cultural scene, Shri Vajpayee added.
