RS. 275.89 LAKH RELEASED TO ORISSA UNDER INDIRA AWAAS YOJANA

The Ministry of Rural Development has released Rs.275.89 lakh to Orissa under Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) as first instalment for the year 2002-03. The fund is meant for three districts of the state. They are Angul Rs. 123.89 lakh, Bargarh Rs. 111.41 lakh and Sonepur Rs. 40.59 lakh.

The grant is towards the plan expenditure and will be utilized for construction of new houses and upgradation of kutcha houses into pucca houses. The expenditure on the implementation of the programme is to be shared on 75:25 basis between the Centre and the State respectively. The State Government should release its share within a month of the date of release of the Central assistance.
